I dont travel much but I take a D4 FFG- The blue makes it Non-Knife-People friendly. If I know the rules are going to be strict, as in has to be under 3 in', I'd pick Squeak, cat, Chicago, a bug or something very tiny

Have a Case Peanut for travel. Throw it in my dopp kit, but just upgraded to Squeak. Gotta have a Spydie! I miss them when I travel.

I general, I don't worry too much about what's legal since I carry my knives loose in my pocket and don't go around whipping them out and waving them around. One exception to that would be when I'm not sure whether I'll be visiting the type places where metal detectors are the norm. In those cases, all knives remain in my car. The other, currently, is carrying a Chaparral when I'm headed into downtown Greenville. One of those "don't poop where you eat" things.

I carry whatever is legal at my destination. I go through the whole spectrum here locally in a week. VA has no blade limit, so I carry my Stretch CF "off duty". At work, it's my Leaf Storm with <2.5" blade. In DC, its either my Bob T. or my new Chaparral with a <=3" blade. There's enough trouble in the world without looking for it, and there's a wonderful Spydie for all circumstances.

Like the Deacon, I'm wary of metal detectors in such places as art museums--even concerts these days. I've gone back to my car to put my Spyderco(s) in the glove compartment on a couple of occasions recently. When traveling, say in Paris, where bags are searched going into museums, I usually only carry a SAK and then just check the bag before screening. For US travel (other than NYC and Chicago), I usually take something relatively small & easily replaceable, such as a Dragonfly or Bird Robin, and I keep a Ladybug Salt in my toiletry kit. I also don't clip the larger knives. But with laws getting more restrictive (and kind of arbitrary depending upon location) the Squeak is gaining in appeal and I may "have to" get one.

Delica, hollowed ground at first and now a purple FFG. I check it in with my luggage on the plane. In Asia carrying a knife is usually a non issue as long as you can justify purpose... for that I carry a travel rod and reel wherever I go. I only travel to fish anyways.

Don't you mean what are your traveling knive(s)? The Para 2 is near perfection and the Manix is also great. Was in South Carolina this weekend and was illegal with out even knowing it....2" blade limit in SC???? My brother carries a Ladybug for personal protection :p . Folks there need to get busy and change some laws. My brother says people often aren't arrested, their knives are simply confiscated. Guess I need to pay more attention to the knive laws.

Again, don't do alot of traveling personally...but I don't see my carry habits changing much for those occasions where I do. Shouldn't see too much trouble with my two most regular carry options...the Saver and Ladybug Hawkbill Salt. Since obtaining these two...its been them and usually one other PE blade to go along as a 'main' knife. Although, I would also like to get my hands on a Squeak for possible travel carry in the future too...
My Spydies: Sharpmaker • Tasman Salt • Saver Salt • Ladybug Hawkbill Salt • Salt 1 • Blue/Gray Meerkat • Burgundy Meerkat • Manix2 Ltwt Translucent Blue • Manix2 Ltwt Blacked Out • Manix2 Backlock • Ladybug 1 Red • Blue UKPK • Tusk • Blue Lava • Dog Tag • Bug • Honeybee • Grasshopper • Stepped Ti Chaparral • McBee • AEB-L Urban

Doesn't change, Gayle Bradley even when travelling. Especially if I'm going on a plane. Only knife I have still available in stores other than a Cold Steel Recon 1 that was given to me, so not trying to lose that either.
