Stab a Marine with 3 fellow Marines nearby, not a good idea.

Personally, I hope Spyderco didn't make a dime off the shoplifter. There's a thread here about Spyderco's in movies. The movie "The Last House On The Left" has a Spyderco in it. The Spyderco's appearance is killing a young girl after she had been raped in the woods. It's really stupid but two things bothered me about the scene/movie. First a young girl was raped and murdered, second a product I like was depicted as part of a horrible act. Doesn't help the "Oh my god, he has a knife" response when using a small folder in a dept. store. Anyway, if the shoplifter had a Spyderco, he probably stole it.BAL wrote:Great story, wonder what kind of knife he had.
In an attempt to be fair though, sometimes people steal things to sell so they can buy food for their kids. But, those people don't usually include cutting people with knives so I'm pretty sure he got what was coming to him. He may feel safer in jail.

Every time you ask people to review a situation like this news item, it is so fascinating to see how the individual mind works and makes connections to their own POV or experiences.
Me? My mind went immediately to the mapping of the fight scene, like the way you visualize the techniques in a Kata or Martial Arts form as responses/attacks to imagined opponents. I'd want the Marines to have done the damage in 6 to 8 strikes for martial efficiency! :D

Believe it or not the most common knives used in crimes are not mid-range or even high end priced knives, they are usually something like a steak knife you can buy at Walmart for a couple of bucks....Doc :Djackknifeh wrote:Personally, I hope Spyderco didn't make a dime off the shoplifter. That makes sense because I can see me buying a brand new Military, killing 37 people then saying to the judge. I didn't kill anybody but can I have my knife back? :DDr. Snubnose wrote:Believe it or not the most common knives used in crimes are not mid-range or even high end priced knives, they are usually something like a steak knife you can buy at Walmart for a couple of bucks....Doc :D
