Getting back into photography

#1

Post by Zendemic »

After a long hiatus away from my camera (and the forums) I definitely think definitely time to start posting some photos again. Ever since starting up school and volunteering 40+ hours a week at the Fire station, my camera hasn't been getting much attention. In an attempt to keep my photography skills from going away I'll try to post a few new images every week.

Anyhow here are a few shots i took a few days ago:

Image
I recently got my watch repaired, and the jeweler gave me the gear that was replaced. A friend of mine wanted a photo of the gear and the Spyderco logo seemed like the best frame of reference for size.

I saw a few videos on youtube of some people trying out the "poorman's stone wash" so I thought I would give it a shot. One of the only things I had was a black pocket clip from a Delica. I thought it would completely strip the paint, but after about 1 hr of shaking the plastic jar full of rocks this was the result. I decided to stick with the super used look rather then go for the full stonewash look.

Nice pics. You should take another of the "used clip". I think they look good that way.

- best wishes, Jazz.

Both right! Hmm didn't know they used titanium for those trauma plates.

I think it would be a little too thin for that purpose. Though if it were just a tiny bit larger it definitely would be cool!

Due to my computer being dead and out for service for the past few weeks, I have not had any chance to edit photos. Now that I have it back, here are some more photos!

Those are some really nice pictures. I like the texture on the blade in the first one.

Thanks Donut! It's really amazing what comes out when you really look close. I think the "texture" on the blade is a result of me not wiping the fingerprints off the blade before the photo...

Oh, I guess there is a little of that. There always seems to be a faint stonewashing on the S30V blades, maybe it is that you can actually see the carbides or something. I'm not sure what it is.
