Anybody know if there's a low carry pocket clip for the Chinese Lum out there?

I could spend some time and make a simple layout but would prefer if someone has done it already.

I want to carry the Lum more again, but after today today am a little paranoid about some comments I heard in the engineering office about sharp knives and "safety" after I showed it to a fellow knife appreciator. :(

When I take my knives to work, where they most often do the most good, I'm looking to keep it a little more low profile now so I won't upset the corporate minded, non tool using weenies who somehow dictate safety policy concerning tools

Got off topic :o Does anyone know if a low riding clip for the Aluminum Chinese Lum exists? If not I will design one. This is the first Spyderco knife I owned and it's being rediscovered :)

Probably check a few of the knife supply places...or get a custom one done.

Check out STR Knifeworks on BladeForums. He makes Ti low rider clips. If he's made one for a Lum you can just order one. Otherwise, you may have to send him your knife to get it fitted. I got one for my Para 2 and it was a great $30 investment.

I'm no expert Charlie, but to my eyes the hole pattern does not lend itself to a waterfall style clip. Not to say it can't be done, only that it would probably require at least one new hole to be drilled and tapped.

Deacon is right. The hole pattern is too tight to allow a folded over stem to weave between the two lower screws while leaving the clip strong enough to work and allowing access to the screws to remove and install them and the two somewhat in line holes are not really in line. Its a difficult clip to copy into a low rider format. Some are just not set up to make it easy to come up with a repeatable clip for the masses. This is one of them. The only way I see is as Deacon said which is adding a single hole and using one of the original factory ones.

You might be able to do a clip using two screws in line with the clip and drill holes in the top layer of the clip.

It would have to be a bit wider to maintain strength with large holes in the part that needs to be strong and I'm not sure how well it would operate with screws right where "what you are clipping it to" goes.

Thanks for the replies :) I understand the points made. Will probably do some online searching first, if unsuccessful I'll make a simple 2 view layout and will see what that tells me. I'll let you know what I find....Thanks :)
