I thiink Joni Mitchell said it best in one of her 1970s recordings "YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT YOU GOT TILL IT"S GONE"

That original FB-04 Perrin is one of about 6 Spyders that I traded away that I very, very deeply regret :( As easy as they were to get even after being discontinued for almost a year I just took it for granted that they would be around for a while. Just goes to show you if you want a certain model of a Spyder you better latch on to it NOW!! or you might never see it again.

Albeit I wasn't too crazy about the Kraton handle and the sheath had a bit to be desired. But that was truly one of the best fixed blades I ever encountered. I can only think of what that blade would have been like with a Micarta handle.
Long Live the SPYDEREDGE Spyderco Hawkbills RULE!!

Last month I went into an off the beaten path gun shop/paintball store (weird combo, right?) to see if they had anything cool on consignment. Took a cursory glance at their knife counter, an FB-04 with no box with $119.99 sticker on it. It must have been sitting there for 5 years. Seemed like a strange price, because I believe MSRP was less than that. Anyway, bought it without hesitation. Great knife.

No offend, but I don't think I agree with that - the last MSRP I know was USD 129,95 (2004). Seems the sticker was on or near the former MSRP.

The FB04 non coated blade and black handle is my graal! It's really hard to find one.
It is the only missing to my Perrin collection.
