I purchased an SE Military from a gentleman on BF, and I haven't seen one with this style of lettering on the blade.
The other Millies I've seen have just "MILITARY" laser engraved on the blade in a sans-serif font.
This one has "Spyderco" with "Military" and "CPM440V Golden Colorado USA" engraved into the blade in a serif font.
Is one style older or newer than the other?

Dan,
You got a good one there. That is the early model Millie. These were the first production knives to use particle metal steel. A less expensive version followed using ATS-34 but was phased out in 1999. They also made Millies with Black-Ti and other coatings that were phased out. Don't know when they stopped engraving the blade like that but she's a definitely a nice keeper! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I have an early Military with CPM440V steel. It's my EDC, at least more so than any other knife. Before the temporary shift to ATS34, then the change back with the relatively low RC numbers for the 440V, (this is the first I have heard of this) were the original 440V blades taken to a harder RC? (Maybe this should be a separate question moved to the Tech Geek Forum? :D)
