Q Knife Questions

#1

Post by PKennedy »

I'm interested in information about Spyderco Q knives. I have several Q's with the laser ingraved blades (spider, geometric, fish ...) and would like to know how many different designs were produced and where they can be purchased.

They can only be purchased by a private party or possibly a retail outlet that very old stock. We discontinued them a couple years ago and haven't made any since. As for how many designs...50+ designs were made as exclusives for private companies and retailers. I'll ask if our sales department has a list of these that can be posted.

Hope this helps.

I just picked up one with a sheepsfoot blade with a pocket knife and NY on it. I have 17 others all different in my collection. They are cool. I would like to have the one with the fish!

I had some marked Springer. I don't know if they were made for the Jerry Springer show or what. I also had one from Hugh M. Woods.

Also when I was on my tour of the famed Spyderco. I also learned about the handles that alot of people ask about. The "fatter" handles are the early ones. They did not have the spyderco logo on them and the pocket clip didn't stay in as well as hoped. Just a tidbit of info for those that didn't know.

Hey there guys,

I dont want to turn this into a "where can I find [insert "Q" type here] ?" kind of thread, but I sure would appreciate some general advise on good places to look for them. The Spyder logo models seem to pop up quite often but I've seen very few of the others, some of which I would certainly like to get my hands on.
I hope some of you more experienced folk could help me out.

Cheers

Hey Treb. "Springer" is a sporting goods chain in Austria.

Hi there. I just came across a heckler and kosh "q" knife in my grandpa's belongings and was told it could be worth a pretty penny. Does anyone know about this? I was told there was less than ten made. Just wondering thanks for your time.

Hi, Oojoemama:
Welcome to our forum. I'm sorry for the delay in getting your post approved and a reply posted over the holiday. You'll find a wealth of information about the Q here, http://spydiewiki.com/index.php?title=C35_Q. It would seem the H&K Q model was one made in relatively high quantities. As to value, that's very subjective as they are worth what someone is willing to pay. The value is, of course, also affected how rare something is but just because many were made doesn't mean that many are available. The Q models aren't often sold.

I hope this information is helpful and we hope you enjoy your time with us.

Kristi

Their was a Spyderco H&K knife sold (or for sale) a while ago. Caught my interest as I didn't know they existed. (H&K MP5 is one of my favourite weapons!)

I don't know what knife it is, just that it had Spyderco hole and HK on blade.

I'll see if I can find it again.

PM/Message me if you want.
