Welcome, Jasperwilkens. Cool - does that notch wave the knife open?
Yes, it works quite well if you draw the knife horizontally out of the pocket. As the notch is shallow I can easily pull the knife from pocket without engaging the 'wave' if desired.
Yes the notch is quite effective if the knife is drawn horizontally from the pocket. As the notch is shallower than standard wave pattern it is easy to draw the knife without engaging the 'wave' action.
So I wanted a Delica with a wire clip and a finger choil....
Functionally it's a failure, but the project was basically just to learn what's required. The wood is just a bit of oak I picked up from the Home Despot that I'm sure isn't stable enough to last. Then I wasn't quite accurate enough drilling the holes, and so the pivot screw doesn't get enough purchase on the scales and never tightens up properly. Horrible blade play. I'm sure I can solve those problems with a second attempt from better material. Think I might take a file to the ricasso to improve the choil, too.

Well, it certainly looks good. Thanks for sharing, and I hope you like your next attempt better (trust me - you can't stop the addiction ).

- best wishes, Jazz.
Kiwi 2 came in CF, but the Kiwi 3 is only in stainless or stag.
I've got a second set of wood Delica scales up to final sanding. Much better tolerances on the holes on this set, and made from a slab of cherry that had been sitting in Dad's shop for several years, so I'm optimistic they'll actually work.
I didn't do this mod, the knife was sent to me to refurb, but I really liked how the ATR looked without the hump at the blade tip. Figured others may want a peek at it too.

Do it. Try something on a piece o' crap butter knife or something - play around until you feel comfortable with the tool and then give 'er. :D Even if you don't like it, Dremels are useful for tons of things - great tool to have.
Be really careful with Dremels and the high speed and for God's sake WEAR SAFETY GLASSES. Also, be selective of what brand bits you use...the cheap ones are notorious for coming apart at high RPM and you don't want pieces hitting you in the face when coming off a bit that's spinning at 30k RPM.
