Does anyone know of an alarm clock for the computer? I can be sitting here and forget about something on the stove or bidding time on ebay, etc. I use my watch but don't wear it all the time.
Thanks,
Jack

Jack, this Javascript is free and builds a webpage that sets an alarm. It only works with IE and you have to find a sound file on your computer to use with it, but it works great and, if you're good with HTML you can pretty the appearance of the page it creates.

google "alarm clock" first result gets you an online one. i'm sure there would be some way of downloading one too. remember the "old" saying: if in doubt google it.

Before I retired I was using the scheduler / alarm clock in Microsoft Outlook which is bundled with Office.
Windows comes with Outlook Express; I don't know if it has the same feature.

Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.

I use Yahoo mail since I retired. My old company used outlook. The calendar with Yahoo doesn't have an autible alarm, just email, messenger, mobile, etc. I need something I can hear while sitting here. I did find a free one by searching for "computer alarm clock" and have tested it since I started this thread. It serves my purposes. Once again I should have searched first. :oSequimite wrote:Before I retired I was using the scheduler / alarm clock in Microsoft Outlook which is bundled with Office.

If you are online and have a Google account, have Google calendar send you a pop-up reminder for the time you like....I use it all the time. It may take a couple minutes to figure it out, but you can have it send you an email or SMS in addition to the onscreen popup.

LOL I am LOST in- studio and throughout the house without a trusty egg- timer -- spring wound up to 1 hour timed. A million uses :)Evil D wrote:Never heard of one...maybe just use an egg timer or something?
My first broadcast gig in 1991-2 was headed up by an army vet PM for the station and he taught me the ropes -- and also relied on said timer for his entire shift -- catching taped sat feeds on time, almost pinpoint accuracy of catching closing features to the minute. transmitter power change windows, T.O.H. wrap ups.
As soon as it goes off, we'd simply set it again ... and again... etc.
