Are there background checks for buying knifes in the mail?

I ordered a knife from Amazon, and it took literally four days for it to actually be shipped.

Nope. It sounds like Amazon just happened to be slow shipping your order.

Even with automatic knives, the procedure doesn't amount to a true background check of the sort associated with buying a firearm. In order to purchase an automatic knife from an out-of-state online/mail order retailer, you would need to provide proof that you're active-duty military/law enforcement/etc. (This is required even if autos are legal in both the state where the retailer is and the state in which you live.)

Chuck, if I can't keep up with my knives, I doubt a bureaucrat can...though I don't doubt it in the future. Do you think you'll have have a permit for a butter knife at that point?

LOL, but I know that there's a law in the making that decrees that you must use a spork to spread butter in the future.

The Homeland Security dept. of the government has a satellite dedicated to track knife shaped objects traveling in trucks. They can even see the name and address. :D

I thought everyone here was already aware that there is a tiny GPS-enabled micro chip embedded in the handle of all your knives.  :D

They check to see if a check is enclosed or see if your credit card will take the hit.
