I recently registered for the National Kidney Foundation's Kidney Walk, which is taking place on May 1st at Bergen Community College in Paramus, NJ.
My father has been suffering from kidney problems for many years now, ever since a "cholesterol shower" caused renal failure following his cardiac bypass surgery. He began dialysis treatment as a result, and was lucky enough to eventually regain enough kidney function to come off dialysis. Unfortunately, the damage to his kidneys was permanent, and he has recently needed to once again begin dialysis treatment while he pursues the possibility of a transplant. He'll be joining me at the walk, though the same cholesterol shower that damaged his kidneys also left him with greatly decreased circulation in his legs and feet.
I'm humbly asking you to help by supporting my fundraising efforts with a donation. Your contribution will go to programs and services that benefit kidney patients, transplant recipients, organ donors and their families. Any amount, no matter how small, helps a great deal, and I truly appreciate your support.
