Probably was just expecting too much out of it. Not a sebbie/stryder/hinderer, but a midlevel frame lock. though I really don't see this frame lock as better than some sub-100 dollar knives. Who knows.
I would seriously call Spyderco. Maybe they will give you a lesser priced Persistence for cheap or free, while you wait for your Sage 2 to get looked at.

No reason for a premium Spyderco to be unreliable like that.

I wouldn't speak for Spyderco but based on past incidents they always seem to "make things right".

Agreed on the lockup. It's probably more than reliable still but based on description it seems out of spec. My Sage 2 started with a perfect lockup and after cycling it a few hundred times (at least) it's still perfect.

Basically it's a perfect knife or as close to it as you can get for $140+/-. Most occurrences favor this opinion over the flawed one.

I have a Sage 2, beautiful knife. I've used it for the past year and a half.
Now the lock lug is still at the 50% position, it doesn't move. It's the same with my other titanium framelocks, after the break in, no movement.

Glad to hear a couple positive long term outcomes.
