The pre-production versions didn't, but the production versions were supposed to have it. I don't think you need to give it another look. Unless I'm totally off base, your pictures indicate it doesn't have it. I may cancel my pre-order...

It didn't originally, but it was changed at some point to have it.

Not really, but for me I simply don't like hearing one thing is coming and then getting something else.

Well I've seen 3 separate pictures of 3 separate knives, and so far none of them have the insert.

It would appear that the initial run doesn't have it. We'll see if they change that down the road.
