So i picked up the latest Tactic Knives mag last night on lunch and thumbed through it, and a knife caught my eye. I have no problem admitting that i'm a Spyderco fanboy...i haven't bought another brand for 5 years and basically it's because nothing else has interested me. This knife immediately came close.
Unfortunately, MSRP is $375. I should have known, because typically anything that catches my eye is usually out of my price range
Anyways if you haven't read the article, it's pretty cool. They do all sorts of things that a folder shouldn't be put through and it doesn't break a sweat. I don't really know what it is about huge over built folders that attract me since i wouldn't EDC one...i'd be one of the first people to say "you need a fixed blade for that" but i'm still intrigued with the idea of a folder that is just as strong as a fixed blade, or at least as close to as strong as possible and this knife seems to come really close.
thats a nice looking knife, im not one for sophisticated looking knives like the gerber ripstop, i like the simpleness of knives like that and spyderco's

Eh...not the nicest looking knife though.
In the article about the Satu, the author pries open an interior door (think about that...how far does a door have to be pried to the side to get the bolt out of the frame far enough to open the door without turning the handle, and how much stress does that put on a knife pivot?), stabs through and hammers through plywood, batons the heck out of everything, chops wood, you name it and he says no blade play whatsoever after he was done. The blade is almost 1/4 inch thick and the pivot is 3/8. It may not be the best slicer but that knife will do just about anything else you ask it to do.
not greyman they are terrible seriously way over priced. my buddy bought some to take over seas.... scales dont match up, grinds everywhere are terrible. fit and finish is terrible. he takes advantage of the "tough ugly tool" marketing but really he just makes crap with a large price tag... then when folks have been waiting 3 months and they get junk for 300 bucks they give it good reviews to make themselves feel good imo. sorry but id stay far away.
