#1

Post by Bolster »

Saw this photo at another forum...custom glow in the dark G-10 handles.

Now THAT would be interesting to have on a Spydie!

Are you sure the description is accurate (that it is really G10, rather than Moonglow acrylic)?

Maker of the knife claims custom G-10.

jsb.com? Can't find it. However I take it the idea of GITD handles has already been discussed.

I don't think that Manix is G-10. I believe it is a different material called moonglow. Moonglow =/= G-10.

No, obviously it's not G10, but Bolstermaniac hasn't been around for a while (hasn't posted for months), and doesn't seem to know that there were GITD scales of any kind available

The paper came with manix says it's polyester based.

This is what you want: http://www.jsburlys.com/index.php?app=e ... edcfmanix2

Oops, my bad :o I must have misunderstood. I read it as he was specifically looking for G-10 and was trying to eliminate confusion by pointing out that the Manix is not G-10. My apologies. :)

Yes, I haven't been around for awhile, wasn't aware of the GITD Manix and...wow! This is why you should never be away from the Spyder forums for too long...

Thanks for the photo...does anyone know if the EDC special happens to be FFG ?

He's describing it as "home made GID G10" (see the link). You can make your own micarta, so I guess you can make your own "G10" - it's just fiberglass/epoxy. I would guess he's making up the "G10" with GITD powder mixed in to get that result. I'm putting G10 in quotation marks because G10 has specific requirements that his product may or (more likely) may not be satisfying.

Moonglow Manix knives on eBay had topped the $300 level not long ago.
