Utility of stout Civi/Matriarch style blade?
Any promise in a Civilian shaped blade with a more robust tip for utility or EDC tasks? I love my Tasman but I wonder if a belly could be useful as well. Maybe Dodo or Cricket owners have some insight. And, in that vein, what would a Large or XL Dodo be like?

A Tasman-sized mini-Matriarch? Definitely on the "would get" list! :D

Something in the middle ground of a Cricket and a Matriarch would be pretty cool. :D
A 3" S-curve blade.

Despite owning 3 matriarchs in various iterations, I don't consider it to be a useful blade shape for any form of utility. If you want to eviscerate a roast, cooked turkey etc while hanging from a meat hook it may be useful. I prefer the wider cutting shape and size of my Tasman and spyderhawk more. They have blade strength that I don't think the civi/matriarch blade has.
Too many Spydies to list!

In general I find the belly portion of my reverse-s blades to be a waste of steel. Either the belly gets in the way for hawkbill tasks or the tip gets in the way for skinning/scraping tasks where the belly would be useful. In trying to be both, it does neither well. That's just my experience, yours may differ.
And for the two people who don't know yet, I've carried and used the heck out of knives with blades half the thickness of the original Civilian tip for many years without breaking them.

I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.
