I'd hafta say the Para 2. I'm really glad I don't have to make these "one knife" choices anywhere but on the forums, though ;)

I EDC 10 :spyder: s, and still have trouble choosing which ones.

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.

I would have to say Stretch... even though it's hard to beat a Delica.

Caly3.5

Light, slim, very compact, still 3.5" FFG blade 3mm thick will outslice any Spyderco with this 3.5" or bigger blade length. IMHO certainly the best knife designed by Sal. Also looks good.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

Another vote here for the Caly 3.5. The Stretch 2 is right up there as well.

Delica 4 for everything knife. That's the reason why it's my first Spyderco.

id say the stretch too but the endura wins on any defensive role added to the fact it carries the same as the stretch. Manix 2 also great edc/defensive role. if i was limited to one knife overall it would be a fixed blade.

The Khukuri is my "everything knife" vote, because its very capable and can be used in public. For some reason people realy like this knife when i pull it out of my pocket; even my close friends were shaded out when I whip out a d2 Millie, which is why that's not the winner.

For a "do-it-all" folder, I would vote for the regular Para 2.

I keep coming back to one of my Delicas.

Of course I am very interested in the ParaMilitary 2. :D

Out of the spydies that I have, my vote would be for the Stretch. It should do well for most tasks including SD if needed.

FRN Stretch 2. The more I use it the more I like it.

Pretty much any of my usual EDC Spydercos would fit the bill: Stretch, Centofante 3, Lum Chinese, Khukri, Rookie, Chokwe, Para. If I had to pick one, the Stretch.

Some of those are less well suited for self defense purposes, but that's not a factor in my criteria for a good knife.
Newest :spyder: in hand: Halloween Handle Hap40 Endura and Delica.
