That part, I think, turns a lot on the color. I've only got one FRN Spydie, but it's in the British racing green color, and although it's not luxe by any means, it looks like a solid piece of gear (and it is). The brighter colors, which show the dirt, tend to look cheaper.Blerv wrote:No but it will look cheap. :p

I always thought FNR looked and felt cheap. After all, its just a plastic. I didn't realize how good the Spyderco "plastic" was until I got a Benchmade Griptilian. Once I felt the competitions version of a plastic knife I knew Spyderco got it right. FRN is thin, sleek, grips well, and is very durable. I hope this is not going against the shiny footprints policy but if you handle a Griptilian and a Delica blindfolded at the same time, I think most will find the Delica to be the most ergonomic of the two. If you look at the two of them you might find the Griptilian to look a bit sexier but as far as which one will perform better as a user, Spyderco FRN wins hands down.

Welcome to the forum henhen.
You are going to love your knife when it arrives. Don't feel odd when you catch yourself opening and closing it. I was at my Mom's place tonight with my wife and daughter and without realizing it my new Delica was in my hand opening and closing. Mom told me to "Put that thing away!".

There are different textures to the CF that its anywhere feeling like stainless steel to rough sand paper...Most the G10 i have had seems to have a better grip than most CF and almost like a rough sandpaper, (in a good way). Some of my favorite knives have CF but i like G10 and FRN better than CF, but most of the CF looks cooler...

Delica is a great edc light & strong & a small pocket footprint & FRN is not as harsh on your pockets as G10 can be.You can buy fancier but not better imo.I would also echo the other comments about the Sharpmaker it was a revelation ,I previously had a L****y which I had good results with but its fiddly & I got no where near the edge I do with the Sharpmaker. You cant see your reflection in the edge you get  but boy is it sharp. My wife likes it too her Kitchen knives have never been sharper, I always warn her when Ive just sharpened them
.Does a great job on scissors too.

I used to mistakenly equate FRN withcheap plastic until I gave it a fair shake and learned more about it. Now I really like it as a handle material.
