Mini-Police necklace

#1

Post by cockroachfarm »

Bought my wife a Mini-Police necklace knife yesterday. Got it home and noticed quite a bit of side-to-side wobble in the blade when locked open. Took it back today, but all three they had left had the same wobble. Anything I can do about it? (I own a nice ball-peen hammer!) I know it's only a bauble - but it's still a $75 bauble, and all my other Spydies lock up tight.

Although one <i>could </i> consider the Mini-Police a bauble, IMHO, it is far from it. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
I don't think that it should have any wobble, just as in its' larger <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> relatives. I suggest that you call Mike, at Warranty and Repair(800-525-7770), and explain the problem to him. I'm sure that something can be worked out and you'll either get this <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> repaired or replaced.

Good Luck

Roachfarm,

Checked my minis for the same. Neither the little police nor the mini-Mariners wobble. I can't see where a little wobble would harm as these are not real daily users and they are primarily an adornment, but since you have a lot of side-side play check with Dr. Mike as KBR suggested. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Necklace knives...neck knives. Hmmmmm.... Christmas IS just around the corner and Mrs Java likes the SPOT! I wonder how Frank Recupero would rescale and filework one of them Micarta babies?! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Bought two of these ; one I gave

to a complete stranger at the

local Motor Vehicle Dept. who(m)

actually wanted to but it from

me, she was soooo "taken" aback

by it. The other went to

DiALEXs' wife Ana Maria. I noticed

VERY LITTLE "play" in the

blade, and this is NOT a

"heavy" user ( like, say, the Endura
) Check with Mike (Hayes) in

warranty & repair if it's THAT

BAD.<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Thanks! I'll call Mike. IMHO, a Spyderco blade - regardless of size - should NOT wobble.

ATE,

Since you bought 2 of the little Police necklace models, and gave both of them away, just in-case you buy a couple more to give away...

(BTW...The Police model IS my favorite Spydie, and the necklace would be a nice compliment to my full-sized model.).

My address is:

Dann Fassnacht
708 North L Street Apt. 2
Aberdeen, WA 98520

Thanks. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>.

Jeee-min-eee, guys,

Mrs Java sleeps with hers! Guess you won't be sportin' a SPOT!! <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Guess I need to borrow Shiden-Kaj' signature for this reply - "Fear causes hesitation, hesitation causes your worst fears to come true."

Stay safe! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
