Where can I pre order the gray G10 para?

#1

Post by Chopping Broccoli »

I've given up on scoring a S90V Para. I'd like to get my name in somewhere for a gray G10 para. Who's taking pre orders. I'd prefer to avoid CS and KC as they probably have more pre orders than they can handle. Anyone have suggestions. I don't mind paying a bit more for it provided its not SFO pricing.

How about Tom Berry at SPYDERCOVT? Shoot him a note. Tom is great to deal with and he'll be straight with you whether you have a shot at one at this point.

Good luck, Bro!

I have a theory that the best way to "get in line" for any low volume item is to develop and maintain a relationship with a single dealer and simply ask them to put one aside for you. I know when I was in business that I'd give preference to my "regulars" and that new faces would get what, if anything, was left.

Kifeworks also had a preorder list as of two weeks ago or so. Your best bet is to try and call the dealer if email does not yeild any results.

I agree totally. If you are buying knives regularly from 1 place, a good dealer should hold it for you.

I've been doing business with Howe's Knives lately and like them quite a bit. I'm thinking they will be my go to Spyderco folks. Jim (Howe) was able to get me a Para 2 in S90V kind of late in the game. They're a relatively new shop so they will have limited pre-orders on some of the sprint runs. Jim said they will get three for sure but have more on order. I think I'm number four on the list after the first three and have a pretty good chance. For the hard core Spyderco collectors, one can sign up as a collector (with Spyderco) and is guaranteed to receive every new model they come out with. One can cancel the subscription at anytime. It looks like the new Para 2 will be made with Carpenter CTS 20CP - Carpenter's equivalent to S90V.

This is what I do and I have yet to miss any knife I wanted.

I put one pre-order at Bento Box Shop on 10/5. They might also have a few spots left...
