Need Quick Opinions ZDP Delica

Do I need a ZDP-189 Delica for $41 out the door? I need opinions ASAP. I have no ZDP knives yet. This is a **** good deal, but I have a lot of Delicas already. Help me decide. Thanks.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

Do you NEED it? Of course not. Here is my advice. Buy it! You will have the Delica quality and a ZDP-189 blade to experience. I have that knife. I love it. Don't read any more posts. Just buy it (unless it takes groceries off the table).

It sounds like you already know you like Delicas. If you want to try out ZDP (great steel, especially for smaller EDCs) then that sounds like a good price too.

"Need" very rarely enters the equation anymore. I've owned enough pocketknives to take care of all my daily and specialty requirements since I was a Boy Scout. Has that stopped me from buying more blades?

Nope! :-)

Needing is one thing, wanting is another: Anyway for that price, get it, get two! You won´t be disappointed having a fine trustworth Delica in one of the finest steels available at this moment!

I have one, and several other ZDP knives besides. I like the steel but if it is to be an EDC user, I wouldn't bother thinning the edge and going to low angles. It's fun but not necessary and you will be put off using your beautiful edge!

EDIT: And if you hadn't already guessed, I voted "yes".

If I didn't have to pay $20 shipping, I'd get one in the blink of an eye.

And yes, I don't need it. :D

Agreed 100% on the low angles. ZDP will take the low angles BUT it takes forever and since it is harder it will chip easier than VG-10 for example. Start with the 30 back bevel and 40 edge bevel that Spyderco and MOST other professional sharpeners I've talked to recommend. Low angles are for specific uses. The chips I experienced are almost invisible to the naked eye but I caught them immediately. No cutting performance degredation. Just irritating for me.

Was it the green or blue handle, the blue seems harder to find.

The green handle knife has a ZDP-189 blade. The blue handle has a VG-10 blade. Cuttleryshoppe.com has blue ones.

I never argued with Sir Isaac Newton in school and I am not going to do this now.

Jack,
Before Spyderco went to production with british-green ZDP Delicas, the company released Sprint run 1200 pieces of Blue handled ZDP Delicas. Blue handled ZDP Delicas are harder to find and cost more.

I didn't know that. I've had the Blue VG-10 in my "to get" list for a while and was only wanting it because of the color. I have the BRG handle ZDP delica and would love a ZDP blue one also. I thought only the Delicas in different colors were available in VG-10. VG-10 is not a problem. I still love that steel. A ZDP blue delica wouldn't be my next purchase though. I have a knife in mind that will be the next but it is more expensive than any knife I have now. I also have to get through the holidays. The holidays and a 1 year old grandson and my wife have put the kabash on new knives. Grandmother + one year old grandson = no $ for Grandpa's knives. That's old math. Nothing new about that. :) That's ok though. I have way more than I need.

That's why I was wondering what color, If it was the blue one that just makes his deal much sweeter.
