Own?
Only three. (sage 2, Purple ladybug and a salt ladybug)
Now how many have I bought???
lots.
A couple years ago I decided that I wanted to simplify my life and it was wasteful to have a drawer full of knives when I only ever used a couple favorites. My son on the other hand loves switching out knives and regularly uses alot of different ones. I passed many down to him. That said, I am definately getting three and possibly more new Spydercos this coming year. zdp and hawkbill salt ladybug as well as the Ti military...not sure if I want the flutes or not. I bought my son a manix 2 for Christmas and as I was checking it out I realized I need one of those too.

Doc, at any given time I've never had more than 5, usually less. I try not to have a lot of unused stuff around. Right now I've got an orange Urban, an SS etched Cricket, and a grey drop point FRN UKPK. The UKPK is about to be gifted, and a Para2 and Balance will be joining the family.
With the new G10 Persians, SuperLeaf, and Dragonfly 2 out there, I may finally pass 5 for the first time since my first Spyderco (FRN D'fly in 1999).

I had 6 but sold 4 of them. Now only have 2. I have a generation 1 Delica purchased in 1997 and I have the foliage green Urban.
Sold my Sage 1 to fund the purchase of a more expensive knife. I sold my Purple Forum Native because someone was "kind" enough to give me double what I paid for it a week after I got it. Sold my TI Lum Chinese and CF Stretch due to poor fit and finish issues.

I own only one and a sharpmaker. The one I own is a Manix 2 PE that I haven't opened yet. Maybe for my birthday next year.
The thing is living here in Ecuador Spydercos aren't readily availiable and in fact I have not seen one yet here in Ecuador. That makes them great gifts. The last time I came back to the states I bought the manix 2 from the factory store and recieved a dragonfly free. I also bought a delica SS and a delica 3. The thing is, if I found a Spyderco here I would have to pay full retail. So giving these knives as gifts is great becuase my friends know what they would of had to pay full retail for the knife if they bought it. Furthermore it's a great knife that they will have for a long time.
So I have 1 and have given away three. The only one that was difficult to part with was the Delica 3, so light and functional. I still am on the lookout for others when I return again.

I might only have 4 within reach right now. That's because I'm on my couch. Now if I go to my bed, the numbers start to spike. 3 within easy reach of the kitchen sink. 2 or 3 I think within reach of the driver seat of my Jeep. It's good to be prepared for those little need-knife-now situations, even if you didn't have a chance to plan for them today.
