Hi Daoud,
We at Spyderco clearly understand the large range of thought that accompanies "China made". The Spyderco crew are people, living here in the USA, and quite proud of the USA. We discuss this question with our customers on forums and at shows, and we discuss these questions among our great crew.
Some thoughts to share.
We must manufacture here in the USA, like we used to. We are too large to be a "Trading Nation". We must build products and grow food here.
Many Americans cannot afford to buy expensive American products and their dollars go further with less expensive Chinese made products. Increasing US wages and developing efficient manufacturing processes in the USA is a worthy goal.
The opposite of war isn't peace, it's trade.
As an organization that is dependent on our customers for our own survival, we must recognize that we have many customers with varied values on this issue. Many of our customers appreciate the fact that we can and do offer good quality low cost models, even if they are made in China.
Many of our customers appreciate the fact that we're constantly growing our Golden facility, improving our efficiency and working with lower margins to provide less expensive USA made product (eg: FRN UK, Manix2, Para2), while still caring for our crew.
Many of our customers appreciate the centuries old skills of our Seki makers whom have been providing us with exceptional quality for 30 years. These customers still purchase Seki made models, despite the increased strength of the Yen.
Many of our customers appreciate the skill of our Taiwan maker and the fact that we bother to ship US made steel for those models.
Trying to balance the interests of our many customers all over the world is an interesting juggling act.
We try to remember that people are people. They love and want the best for their children, they work hard and try to be successful, whiles values differ, education (not brainwashing) is still the highest path for our future.
Hope that helps you with your Tenacious decision.

I think it should stay for economic reasons (I really want one) and after Sal's answer, that makes a lot of sense. A company has to try and cater to the largest range of people while the owners have to uphold some small level of integrity as well. I think Sal seems to be the kind of guy who doesn't do anything without a lot of thought and discussion, as is evidenced by his answer, and I'm betting he doesn't have any problem looking himself in the eye every morning. Balancing the considerations of a company, it's people, the country, the world and it's people while still trying to maintain a personal ethic is a tricky road. I think Sal answered the question perfectly and touched on ALL of those considerations. The Persistence is #1 on my Christmas list! Thanks for a great answer Sal!

Was it listed as Military-Style or military-style or something else? If it was listed as a single hyphenated term that should have been a pretty clear indication it wasn't a military. The flip side of that coin is we tend to see what we want to see whenever possible. From a neutral position I'd say that while the seller might have intended to deceive there's no absolute indication of that intent. I don't know if you'd have any luck trying to return it based on deception. It seems more a case of an eager buyer seeing what they want to see, something we've probably all done at some time or another.
Keep it! It's a great knife for everyday carry, and if it happens to get lost, buy another one! That is how I look at it. I wouldn't want to carry my Persian everyday (well I would, but not gonna happen!) as it is too pricey and beautiful to chance losing or abusing.
I understand the "China Syndrome", but as Sal stated above, sometimes it just makes sense.

I would keep it. You paid a good price for an excellent knife.

Not that I have the largest (although its growing) Spyderco collection, I have a Tenacious and it is one of my favorites. It easily gets the majority of my EDC time.
I just love the build quality of the knife, its looks, its feel in my hand. Its also important to me to be able to position the clip where I want it do I can draw it from my usual carry spot and open it easily and quickly.
Every time I look at the knife I am reminded of the very reasonable price, and I love it even more.
