dumb question
Just got my new spyderco cricket and cannot close the blade - can't find the lock lever. You are free to make sarcastic remarks if you tell me, in some detail, how. Thanks.
is that a slip joint?

Isn't the cricket an SS framelock? If it is, hold the knife edge up and move the lockback a little to your left.

Hopefully no sarcastic remarks from us! I think the Spyderco forums are a pretty nice community and we're all happy to help out. I borrowed and modified one of oregon's pictures from another thread to help illustrate. The green part is the lock, which also doubles as part of the back handle of the knife. When you open the knife, this part pops inward, essentially jamming the blade open. To close, apply pressure, pushing it outward. When it is pushed out, then the blade is free to swing back in. Just make sure your finger is out of the way before fully closing it! Hope this helps and welcome to the forums!
