dumb question

Just got my new spyderco cricket and cannot close the blade - can't find the lock lever. You are free to make sarcastic remarks if you tell me, in some detail, how. Thanks.

Isn't the cricket an SS framelock? If it is, hold the knife edge up and move the lockback a little to your left.

Iirc
Crickets are liner locks so if you flip the knife over there should be a metal liner that you have to move out of the way to get the blade to close.

Yes, the lock bar is on the frame just to the right of the pocket clip. It needs to be pushed toward the pocket clip slightly and held there, while you close the blade.

P.S. Whatever you do, don't buy a Meerkat! :D

Hopefully no sarcastic remarks from us! I think the Spyderco forums are a pretty nice community and we're all happy to help out. I borrowed and modified one of oregon's pictures from another thread to help illustrate. The green part is the lock, which also doubles as part of the back handle of the knife. When you open the knife, this part pops inward, essentially jamming the blade open. To close, apply pressure, pushing it outward. When it is pushed out, then the blade is free to swing back in. Just make sure your finger is out of the way before fully closing it! Hope this helps and welcome to the forums!

Not so dumb of a question. It took me a while to figure out how to close my 1st liner lock also.

My Cricket is somewhat difficult to disengage, it is a very strong framelock.
