Orange Dodo sprint! Please
Don't give up on sprints, just find a more reliable dealer. I got screwed on a pre-order for the Matriarchs, but I did eventually find both edges for a good price.
Find a good, reliable dealer (even if it costs a few bucks more), and place your pre-order as soon as possible.
I'd imagine red Persians will still be obtainable for the next few weeks if you keep an eye out.

Please, be realistic, Dodo was discontinued more than five years ago. IIRC Dodo and C83 Persian were discontinued at the same time and Persian was just few bucks more. There is not yen to $ exchange for Dodo, still with only 4% inflation is already 26% up.HotSoup wrote:If the price point is about the same as the original Dodos, I'm down for 3-4.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

I haven't been keeping track of the inflation or the value of the yen, nor do I know when the original Dodo was produced and discontinued.bh49 wrote:Please, be realistic, Dodo was discontinued more than five years ago. Wasn't a matter of being unrealistic, but a matter of not having all the information.
Still going to get multiples whatever the price is.

Well, the Para-Military that came out in 2004 cost $199.95 MSRP. The Para2 has an MSRP of $169.95. Both use G-10, S30V, and are Golden built.
The Dodo cost $124.95 MSRP when it came out in 2003. It too uses G-10, S30V, and is Golden built. Now, I'm not saying there will be a price correlation between the two models, but if the Para2 could cost $30 less six years after its introduction, then hoping the Dodo (seven years later) would possibly cost the same now isn't too incredibly unrealistic.
Even if the MSRP goes up to $150, that would get us street prices below $100. I'd surely pick up at least one at that price.

Yes but Sal has said that Spyderco started testing a new policy of lower profit margins on their new models, including the Para2, to see if they can make up for lower profits with higher sales volume.
I hope that works out for them, because it means lower prices across the board in the future, for dealers, and for us.

He said somewhere in this thread they are working on it.jonUSA,EARTH wrote:Don't want this thread getting lost :)
If i remember correctly, somewhere Sal posted that this may actually happen?
Can anyone help me with this...
For this thread to get lost it would take a cover-up properly orchestrated by NATO, DC Comics, Marvel, and TMZ. I have a feeling nobody will forget about it.
