About the lockbar face costs - it was just my guess.
However, the possibility of replacing the interface would be a 'dreams come true'.

I know they are making it perfect for us and some changes were made, including the SS insert to the lock bar,,but I was just curious...well what i mean to say is :eek: Can't Wait :eek:
I bought a few Titanium Militaries to sell (I'm a part time dealer), they arrived more or less at the same time as the announcement of the new version was made. Now my customers aren't interested in them and prefer to wait for the new ones.

If I'm reading Kristi's initial post correctly, it was really about both, since the KW exclusive is scheduled to be the first knife to incorporate the change...

Chris Reeve puts a piece of ceramic on the end of his locking bars, I do believe, for as long as they've been around. At least, I have a bg42 and a newer one, and they both have something in there.

No, the ceramic ball was introduced only a couple of years ago with the Umnumzaan. There are other manufacturers that have used a steel face on the lockbar, but it's relatively uncommon. There's a big thread at another forum on this change.
I'm not talking about the ceramic ball. I'm talking about the triagular piece of ceramic at the end of the lock bar which is what truly engages the blade. It is plenty visable if you have a Sebby.
I don't know if it's always been there, but like I said, I have an older one in bg42, and it's there. I have a newer one, and it's there too.

Do you have a Sebby? I'll call CR in the morning just to make sure it's ceramic and when they started putting them on.
I have several. It's not ceramic. IIRC, it's the coloring caused by CRK heat-treating the lockbar face.
