I keep picturing one of those with blue jean micarta and copper pins.

I've already let this one go. I'm regretting it. Might have to pick up another blank...

Sweet knife! I love the red liners beneath the black micarta.

I finished this BM (doesn't dare to fully write the name down.... :o ) this afternoon for a customer. (Let's call him) 'Snody' with custom green micarta plates and a leather pocketsheath. Boy, the owner was in heaven when I send him pics of the blades few hours ago....

It is really time to get a few Spyderco-blanks!

:)

Too Sharp - That is beautiful!

Where did you get the bolts and lanyard tube parts? Which size did you use?
I am haveing a hard time sourcing the parts for this project.

Thanks,

S.

I used 1/4" Corby bolts, with 1/4" SS tubing. The lanyard hole is a bit larger than 1/4", but glues up fine.

Did you have to drill out the holes to fit the 1/4 " corbys? The existing holes seem pretty small like 5/32".

I did drill them out, but I was originally going to use pin stock instead of corbys. You can use a masonry bit and some oil if you need to drill them out a little.

Brilliant job TooSharp!

It looks like you stayed very true to the original ergo contouring to the scales.

Cheers,

Doug,
Thanks for the kind words. I did try to stay as close to the original handle shape as possible. Spyderco did a great job on these blades. I've got plans to make a more modern Bushcraft blade out of S30V. Hopefully I can make that happen before the end of the year.
