Did the pocket clip on the P'kal get changed?

Just got a P'kal :spyder: Every picture I had seen had a clip like this one:

Mine has a looped clip like on this Caly 3

I actually prefer the low carrying clip so it's not a problem, just wondering.

Hi Schneider,

The model was designed to use the clip as in the top pic. That way a small amount of the handle proturdes from the pocket so you can grasp the butt of the handle with your thumb on the inside and other fingers on the clip side for deploying. (The knife is carried blade forward in the front of the pocket, clip mounted on left side for right hand carry).

But mine came with the Caly 3 low riding clip like in the second pic  Which is why I was wondering if you guys had changed it.

Did you buy it new from a retailer?

Yep, from Amazon. Looks like it's brand new.

I'm liking mine too :) I've never had a ball bearing lock knife before so I'm having fun playing with that ;)

That's what I was wondering. Sounds like it could be a wire clip swap by previous owner.

EDIT: Okay, just saw you said it was brand new from Amazon. If you're the first owner maybe it got the wrong clip by accident at the factory and went through unnoticed. I would tend to think clip installation is one the last assembly steps, perhaps less chance to catch if before going out the door. What's the date code on your box?

Sounds like the clip got swapped somewhere along the line. But, if you're happy with the way it is, then things worked out well as it saved you the expense of buying a low rider clip.

Thank you very much Sal. I think I'm going to stick with the low carry clip, I don't seem to be having any issues with getting enough finger on it to pull it from the pocket. :)
