horrible story Tony!
did this happen after you got that supercharger for it too ?
I cut open a bag of chinese food from the local chinese restaurant. The crappy thing is that it was over two hours old. My nine month old son suddenly got a SEVERE rash from head to toe so we had to rush him to the ER. Luckily, after a shot of epinephrine and a oral dose of benadryl he was o.k. and looking much better. Apparently it was just a severe allergic reaction to something, which we can't figure out what. Anyways, yea, I cut open a bag of some soggy chinese food. Just though yall might like to know.

Sounds like a great excuse to pick up a 2011 Mustang GT with 412 hp (before you toss on a supercharger of course )! It just destroyed the twice-as-expensive BMW M3 in the recent MotorTrend issue.
But back on topic, it's been a slow couple days for cutting stuff. Only thing I cut today was a bag containing my peanut butter energy bar. I gotta find more things to cut up this week...
thanks everyone..i wasnt hurt, shaken up a bit but none the worse for wear. i had not put on the SC yet so i am taking the money and in spring buying an 03-04 cobra vert, hopefully with low miles and then tune it to get 500HP at the wheels.

Glad to hear you aren't hurt. Sad thing about the mustang though, must just be a sign for you to get something better. :D
Re-modeling bathroom. Ceiling, walls, cabinets that I will build, new sink w/ cabinet that I built, minor electrical work, etc. When I started I decided to only use Spyderco cutting tools instead of my normal tools like sheetrock (utility) knife with disposable blades and other inexpensive tools. Wait, I did use the sheetrock knife for guess what? Sheetrock. You need a very thin blade for that. A normal knife blade is too thick for sheetrock if you need to cut all the way through it instead of cutting the paper then breaking the sheetrock. Other than that I’ve used only Spyderco knives. Does Spyderco have something like a sheetrock knife with a very thin blade from edge to spine? Having asked that question I wonder how long it will be before one of you sharpening experts grind a blade down to 1/16” thick from edge to spine. Just kidding, maybe. It would be a useful Spyderco tool.
Anyway, I’ve enjoyed using only Spyderco because they have done a great job and they have held up to the harder tasks than I would normally do on a daily basis. Wasn’t Spyderco one of the first with the one-hand-opening knives? That has become a necessity especially in a work environment when you are holding something with one hand when you need your knife. You don’t have to be very old to remember needing both hands to open a knife. Sometimes, you can’t even take your eyes off what you are holding. Having a folder on your tool belt is invaluable. I say folder because you may need to look at your sheath to get a fixed blade knife back into it so you don’t stab yourself. I think anyone who works in a “tool belt needed” environment will appreciate this.
I just had to replace an upper radiator hose on a car, and the hose that was recommended from the parts store had an extra bend and a few extra inches of hose that didn't match the factory hose, so i cut that off. I used my Caly 3 ZDP, and man i tell ya what...i work on cars a LOT...i've cut 100s of radiator hoses, and i used to carry this folding carpet knife and i've cut a lot with that...the Caly slid through the hose like a hot knife through butter. I was very impressed (kudos to me and my sharpening skills LOL)

Have you ever tried dipping the blade in water before slicing rubber? In my experience it seems to make it easier, lubrication I suppose.
To keep in line with the thread title, I sliced a tomato with my 9Cr18Mo Mule blade. The blade is a little think so I offset blade the angle but it still makes nice thin slices for my sandwiches. :D
I was returning it to my pocket after opening some mail, and I noted a 'tug' on the pocket that I hadn't felt before... tried again, tug again... looked down and the tip of the Millie was just slightly exposed... and I had put 2 nice long slashes into the inside pocket of my work pants...
not sure how to explain those to the wife... (attacked by a pocket mugger?)

You must be a great knife sharpener Evil. I've even read it on bathroom walls. Just kidding. Nothing wrong with a little back patting. Even if it's your own.
I used my ZDP Lum Chinese to open up a fishing spoon package, but then swapped it for my Izula when I actually went fishing. I just like clipping that tiny fixed blade to my PFD.

Hmm...ya know, i never have thought of that but yeah i suppose it would make it a lot easier. Once you get about half way through the friction does slow you down if you don't bend part of the hose down.
My delica 4 cut some tape, boxes and my middle finger (from cleaning my delica with a sponge). Never underestimate the sharpness of a Spyderco knife :p
