There's one at the local shop and i'm really intrigued. The blade just looks extremely useful for some reason. I think it was a pretty good price also.
I want to be around your shops..lolol, I looked into it and like it. If I could find one I would cancel one of my preorders to get it. I got the impression it was a tough versatile knife, and talk about unique.
I want one, if it were me I would get it if I could afford it.

Yeah the only thing i have found about it that i really don't care for is how wide it is when closed and clipped in your pocket...it takes up a lot of space and hinders getting your hand into your pocket. The other thing i immediately noticed was it's a PITA to close because it seems like the liner lock is almost flush with the rest of the handle, making it a bit hard to get your thumb on the lock to press it and close it. I knew immediately some Dremel work would be in order if i were going to carry this knife.
Holding it in my hand was nice though...it feels pretty serious, although a thicker blade would've been nice on this one. I don't know about the hollow ground blade either...i've gotten really fond of FFG.
Wrong handed liner lock would be a deal breaker even if I loved everything else. Don't like swedges or other gimmick grinds. Don't like concave curved blades, they're harder to sharpen on flat stones. Don't like the look of Spyderco's G-10. Found both the choil and the grip area felt cramped. Lock may be very safe, but is a PITA to release, would be impossible with a gloved hand. Aside from that, it's a well made knife.
Love it. Might be my my favorite spyderco next to the para. Not sure what other knives you have, but I find a lot of spydercos to carry fairly wide. The captain has never seemed much wider than the others to me.
When these came out there was a lot of talk about the difficulty in disengaging the lock. It definitely takes a little more work, but you get used to it pretty quickly. I don't even think about it any more.
I really like the hollow ground blade on the captain. For some reason, I don't think it would look right with a flat ground blade.
A serrated option on the captain would have been really cool

That's basically all i've thought...i don't have an issue with the lock or G10 but the lock placement difficulty was the real deal breaker for me. I could do without the swedge too. My main interest is the double curve blade...that design seems really useful.
I love the Captain. I like the fit of it in my hand. I've used the tip several times for chiseling and push cuts, which allowed me to have a bit more control than using the conventional cutting edge of a blade.
I don't find the lock difficult to disengage, because the jimping on mine is so aggressive it's hard not to get a good grip on the lock bar. The only issue is that the jimping plays havoc with my thumb and gets it pretty raw after a lot of use.
I can open and close it pretty quickly with one had. Ease of opening and closing differs as do folks.
I have one and love it. I don't find the lock hard to operate at all, very comfortable in hand and I find it on par with other knives for width when closed i.e. the manix.
Get it, you wont regret it... but if you do I will take it off your hands
First time I saw one of those I loved it. Second time I liked it. Third time I started to note its gimmicky-ness. Now I say, "I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger so fast." Then again, if you're into slashing things it could prove very useful. It seems to be made for people who need to cut something really fast and sloppily.
