Their price is $94.41 free shipping. I do a lot of business with them and their return policy is best I found. I may get that one. Thanks to all for suggestion.

You are new here so you might not know about the places a lot of us buy a lot of our knives. My favorite online retailer (Cutlery Shoppe) has the blue Stretch ZDP for $91.75 and that's not a sale price.
Try looking at

Happy shopping!

Thank you. I have a list with Cutlery Shoppe on it but have not used it. I stay mostly on Knifeworks but will check this one now. I appreciate all the help I can get in regards to reliable sellers, etc.

In my experience, Cutlery Shoppe usually has the best prices, and Knife Center usually has new items in stock first. The other two are both good dealers too. I know I'm leaving at least one good dealer out.

Minor point, but be aware that the photo on Amazon has been photoshopped. Namely, it's a picture of a CF Stretch II that's been "colorized" blue. Not a big deal, as long as you realize the FRN one you receive will look a bit different. More like this...

It's definitely a fact of life with ZDP. You can love it, hate it, live with it, spend countless hours cleaning it off only to see it return, or live without ZDP.

What did you use to get that patina? I'd love one like that on my ZDP Endura.

Great info, Gentlmen. Sorry I don't stop by here more often. It just ends up costing me so much money... and I don't have a blue Stretch... and I love the one I do have... =)

So really, nobody can keep ZDP rostfrei? In a dry climate, using Breakfree?

I'm sure if you wanted to wipe down ZDP with something like gun oil wipes you could prevent the patina. That said, one of the perks of stainless steels are the relative lack of maintenance.

Keeping it rust free is fairly easy, although it does rust more easily than VG-10. Patina is a whole 'nuther ballgame. There may be something you can coat the blade with that would prevent it, but I've never bothered experimenting. Otherwise, it happens pretty spontaneously. The knife in that photo, for example, has never been used and I generally avoid touching the blade, other than the Spyderhole area, when I take it out of the cabinet to photograph it. The knives I do use are used, at least occasionally, for food prep, which makes me unwilling to use anything like BreakFree, MilTec, TuffGlide, or even Ren wax on them.

Yourcornerstore.com has the cheapest price at $91.19 but yea I would actually recommend cutleryshoppe since ycs can take a day or two longer to ship and its only a 56 cent differance.

It patinas (not rust) real easily even with me wiping it down with wd-40 or mineral oil but I actually like how it looks so I dont bother wiping it off anymore. I actually took a lemon slice and patinaed the whole dang blade and I like it.

Buy something from them and sign up for their email.

P.S. try "Summer20".

Must....not....buy....another....Stret.... oh the **** with it. I really might need another one somewhere down the line, Right? Right guys? Blue is purdy, and that's enough, right? I need one to do patina tests on, right?....

Anyone have any antidote? Other than getting all you can possibly hold?

Antidote? Wish there was one.

I swore off buying knives when I semi-retired the 2nd time.
Then I made stupid mistake. Memorial day weekend, I walked into a knife store at an outlet mall "just to look." Walked out with a Manix 2 CTS-XHP and a Bug. I'd never ever even desired a Manix before holding the one in the knife store. Love the ball lock mechanism.

Well, that led to ordering a pink Manix 2. Now, I want a blue Manix 2.
If you do find that antidote, please zap it on me a.s.a.p.!
