New Byrd Knives. More info anyone?

#1

Post by TheLateBoyScout »

I discovered some new, unreleased Byrd knives on KnifeCenter.com the other day. Availability is stated as "This is a delayed new product--pre-order only at this time." with no indication of when they'll be released. I haven't found any mention of them on Spyderco's site, nor any other online stores. Even Google's coming up dry. Just wondering if anyone here knows more about these knives.

Byrd Meadowlark2

Byrd Cara Cara2

The Meadowlark2 looks like a decent, less-than-half priced version of the FFG Delica 4 - except WITH that wonderful jimped choke-up finger choil that most of the Byrd knives have.

The Cara Cara2 looks pretty attractive for the same reasons.

I'm a big fan of Byrd knives in general because of how much you get for your money. Yeah, they're a little less refined than their Spyderco counter-parts, but pretty decent nonetheless.

I'd appreciate any details you have on these soon-to-be-mine knives. Thanks. :)

Both of these are listed in the 2010 supplement catalog on the Spyderco website. They have been discussed on this forum too. I'm looking forward to picking up the Meadowlark when it becomes available.
