I thought the slime from a snail enabled it to slide on a edge without being cut? :p

Snails are amazing critters. The strong muscle they glide on (the "foot"), plus the "slime" they produce to enhance movement and adhesion to surfaces, protects them from rough surfaces to include razor-sharp edges. Even the scary sharp edge of a :spyder: does little to phase them. Salt (the sodium chloride kind, not the Spyderco kind), however, is a different story.

Which makes me wonder... How do they produce so much of it? They leave it wherever they go lol
