I now include a crossbill in my EDC rotation. It is somewhat wide but since I carry it in my LRP it just disappears there. If length is not a legal issue I'd say get the bigger blade.

I've used both and am happy to use either.............this might help (or confuse?! ;) ) Comparison of both in-hand.................

This is the Spyderhawk in hand, its not a little knife.............

A Tasman in hand to give a size comparison..........HI and a curved blade great for fishing in my opinion.............

Hmm, I can't seem to find the special "blowout" priced Tasmans. I only found one listing on Ebay, but it had already been bought. Are they all gone already?

buglerbilly: why a SE blade for fishing? Unless your talking commercial where you might need to cut rope/nets frequently and quickly. Otherwise I would think the PE would be more useful. Though could be wrong, which is why I'm asking you :)

Don't be misled by the pic, I use both serrated and plain edge more or less as the fancy takes me...............fishing here in West Australia is predominantly sea-fishing of one kind or another, and in Winter whch we are rapidly approaching now, I tend to use the serrated more than the plain. It reverses in Summer, no real idea why just what I'm comfortable with.

Life is at least partially built on petty foibles, likes or dislikes just part of the parcel of minor eccentricities that make me an individual.

The Tasman is similar to a Delica in size, a Spyderhawk is similar to an Endura in size.

I hope this helps.

A further comparison of Delica vs Tasman when folded. Similar length, but the Tasman is noticeably wider:

Maybe someone could post a shot of Tasman vs Spyderhawk folded width?

Awesome picture. I've been contemplating this pair of H-1 Spydies, and that's a really helpful comparison photo. +1 on a shot of the Spyderhawk closed. Maybe next to a Delica or Endura also.

I have the camera out and alot of comparison shots are coming. Just give me like 10 mins to upload.

Here you see a Millie(with black blade :) ), Spyderhawk, Endura, Delica, and CF Harpy

I should be getting a Tasman within the next few days but I figured the Harpy is close to a Tasman.
