That may be a mistake, the proto is pictured. Could be either, I enjoy both steels so it doesn't matter to me, it is made in Golden!

$39 for US made S30v blade. I am very impressed. It looks like FFG. :p I hope this is not an error.

As far as I know, these will actuall be hollow ground and GIN-1.

If Sal and crew have upgraded to S30V and FFG, these are even a better deal!

I wouldn't put it past them to hit the price point with FRN/S30V... weren't the Wal-Mart Natives only a bit more than that?

There were a lot of people who asked for flatground so maybe they changed to flat s30v  .

On the other hand there are a lot of gin1 saberground in the hands of knife people and Sal told us the steel and saberground was done to keep cost down.

Should these new flat 30v blades be true it's would be even greater :D .

Preorder only. Looks like its UKPK LATER! Has KC confirmed stock on these to anyone?

Its a proto picture and KC more than likely has the steel listed wrong. I wouldn't get hyped up about s30v.

the model number on the s30v plain leaf maroon is SP94PMR
and the gin-1 maroon plain leaf is C94PMR
so I'm crossing my fingers the s30v at knifecenter isn't a listing mistake

Must be an error.
No way S30V for $38 bucks.
I think a revamp of the whole spot will be out shortly. ie. hollow grind, blade steel, etc.

Ditto. Thread title is highly misleading. That's fine, as I'm in no huge hurry to pick any of these up. I'll probably get one or two down the road, and maybe some as gifts if I like mine.

Sal, can you please clear up the chaos about the blade steel and grind? I know this is going to blow up into craziness.

does the thread say available right now? no its does not. it said ukpk now - meaning that the he called and said they put the preorder up and told me to order them now. i gave the four people i was pm'ing with about frn ukpks a thread heads up so they can order like i promised. i never said the were available this second for purchase, no where at all was that said. nothing was said actually. i intended for you to look at the link and see for yourself the situation and then act accordingly. that is all.
anyway either steel will be great. obviously s30v would be better but still the fact that we finally have conformation that all edges were made for all models. if one can afford i recommend getting multiples of these. i think these will be a great hit for sypderco and become like anew "delica" for them. the look and functionality and price make it a winning package. i thin they will do well with this. i cant wait for more inof onthe rest and the stats and ifo on the organe se one.

interesting question. i thought about that too. i heard that was how it was to be named back in "development" "a usa version with frn" so to speak. but i believe it is still ukpk but with frn instead of g10. i may be wrong but it looks that way. sal will read this thread and settle all of these questions and comments were all bringing up and we'll know about the release of these and we will finally know all the facts.
