Sage III, June outing?

#1

Post by gull wing »

I had hopes they would be out in June(as in SageII), but I see the FRN/UKPK are another month away, so I guess it would be wrong to expect June as a release date for the SageIII??? :) ;)

Is there a standard time from seeing a prototype at a show to being able to buy the actual knife at dealers? Maybe sal could help - there are people in the UK champing at the bit for the CF and Ti UKPK :D
My spydies: Squeak, Tenacious, Terzuola, D'Allara, UKPK CF peel-ply pre-production, UKPK CF smooth pre-production, UKPK G10 orange leaf-blade, UKPK FRN grey drop-point, UKPK FRN maroon leaf-blade, Bug ... all PE blades :)

There are people champing at the bit for all the new models. Evidently Sal is wise enough to not go on record with predictions of when they'll be released.

It's going to be my first Blackie Collins locker, and I am really anxious to get a couple of these.

There must be something "big" coming out soon though--it's been awhile since we've seen anything out of Taiwan--only "big" releases in the last couple months out of Japan were the delicas and enduras--Golden seems to be working on the FRN UKs. I guess we'll find out when we find out,...

I share your frustration, gull wing. :p

I'm so eager to pick up both the Sage 3 and the Para 2. I guess good things come to those who wait. :)

I am eagerly awaiting this one too. I can't wait to see how the BA lock turns out- it was fun to be able to participate in assisting this one to production.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

Yeah, my Sage 1 and Sage 2 are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their sibling. I really like this lock design too.

YCS has preorders up for the Perrin PPT (Taiwan IIRC), Lum CF (Japan), Large Lum (Japan), Balance (???), Superleaf (Japan?), as well as all the UKPK FRN variants (Golden) and UKPK CF and Ti (Golden too?). Since the pricing is up and orders can be put in, I suspect all of these are right around the corner!

YCS puts up "guesses" about availability and price months before hand. They rarely have a correct date.

I didn't intend to indicate that YCS availability dates were correct, just that if they have enough pricing info to pre-sell, then it should mean the knives are near enough to production that finalized costs have been set. I only mentioned it because the thread is asking about June for the Sage III, and a few of the knives at YCS are supposed to be coming out in June. IIRC, Sal indicated (either on here or BF) that the UKPK FRN, CF Lum, and PPT are all supposed to come out some time in June. I might be mis-remembering however.
