I'm thinking 3-4in. diameter circle, black patch with red or white spydie logo, red/white/silver text
I think I see where you are going, can you do a 'paint' version?

FIMS wrote:Red and black, and some sort of subdued variation.
I think I see a trend here, and I agree with it. My initial thought would be to just replicate the top of the Spyderco box, and add name bars (of course, having gained permission to do so, first).

StangBang wrote:Most definitely! I really like the idea :)

Would we do them on a basis of achieved status? How would we award them? Or would it be just for anyone who wanted one?

I really want to see how this goes :)
Yeah, the achieved thing is cool, and the way USN does it... But, I think I would just make them available for a nominal fee. That way everyone can get in on the action.

Reeper22 wrote:Definitely. I want something small to medium sized but very cool/unique. Not just a spider with a backdrop. Something 3d like. Would they be personalized?
I will include a image of mine from USN, which should help inform our discussion. And then, beyond that, it will be up to us, and the Spyderco Crew.

ousanas wrote:I'm down for whatever.. but my thoughts are either plain and simple spyderco logo on a circle with some small indicator of it being a forums badge vs the regular spydie patches

OR Sal's pendant outlined in a red circle patch with just "Shiny Footprints" at the bottom.

actually the spyder with "Shiny Footprints" would be perfect for the simple one :)
Good ideas.

Perry wrote:Colors should be similar to usage in popular knives. Rescue orange with silver. Perhaps Foliage green with black and silver? -P
I had not thought of that, but valid ideas.

fifthprofession47 wrote:I like the idea. I think the badge should have some kind of hole cut in it...seems appropriate. :)
Another good idea.

This is what one type of badge looks like... Each image is of one side.

I'd be totally in, whatever the design, all great ideas here.
On a side note: I love my RAT Pack Badge. :D But I would definitely like to have a name on it (forum ID or real name) instead of just a number.

You should make this a poll thread.

I'm in.
How about some jewelry too. A small, sterling silver, round shaped pendant, with the Spyderco Bug.

Yes! Much like the UFC Octagon Pendant. Great idea.

Did I miss something? Where are there regular spyderco patches available?

It would be cool if we can have a Velcro patch. I'm not a big fan of an I.D. badge like USN.
