I've been a customer of the dealer in question for years and he is a stand up guy. Thanks for giving him a chance to make it right. Keep us updated on how it goes.

I sent the Forester back yesterday ($25 Priority to Canada, in a shipping box) with a note saying I would like an unopened replacement, not a repack, even though he never responded to my last e-mail.

I hope you get things resolved to your satisfaction, droc. Actually, he didn't reply to my last couple of emails either. :o He must be pretty swamped at the moment. He'll probably get things under control in a couple of days.

I thought that's what these forums were for. You do a disservice to everyone by not letting people know about your experiences. If something is good, its easy to find because everyone talks about it. The same with the bad. If you were to make a purchase and nine out of ten people report a major problem either with the product or the retailer, would you still buy that item from that retailer?

I did a lot of reading on this forum prior to deciding to buy all four knives in this set. The major complaint I saw was the edge not being shaving sharp, which is expected seeing how they are forest knives, not couch commando's arm razor's.

Nowhere did I read about blades being scratched or questionably re-packed.

And riddle me this batman, if you're so "tired" of being "bothered" by something you participated in willingly, then why are you calling to others so you can say you're "not alone". Really dude, take a debate class.

HI,

I haven't heard anything back from you, but I sent the knife back via Priority mail. A new one shipped back in the box I sent would do fine, I think. Let me know and I'll pay for the return shipping back to me. I didn't mean to offend you. If I have any concerns with the new knife I will take it up with Spyderco's customer service.

Keep this going. This is some of the best arguing (on the internet about nothing) Ive seen in quite some time. My favorite part is how fired up you got when the same people you asked for advice gave it to you.
