The FFG versions are VG10 only.
We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

I am blessed to have one of those blue ones. :)

I remember thinking that these terrific and exciting, uniquely solid ZDP-189, Delicas were probably one of the most sought after folding knives of all time. When they came out I had standing orders at two vendors, the first time I'd ordered in such a manner, and was surprised and tickled when both orders filled.

One was gifted to a deserving loved one. The other is sandwiched between two ZDP-189 Enduras below.

Superior knife steel in a brilliant folder: Who would want that.... :D

Ditto the above. And, as a freebie, I would say that in my totally subjective opinion that shade of blue was perhaps the most attractive piece of FRN I've seen, before or since! :spyder:

Just take a look at the box. There You can see the code 'FF'.
This knife was made in June 2006.

I wish I had been a Spyderco collector when the Blue ZDP Delicas were out. I love that color.

Actually, it came out around the time I started collecting... and it was my very first Spyderco!

I LOVE the color. It looks a bit different in person than most photos... it is very nice.

Jowens, to need to despair!
This thread is already quite old.... if you REALLY want a blue handled FFG ZDP Delica, the solution is right around the corner.

By now, you actually CAN get the Endura 4 with ZDP 189 steel in full flat grind. The regular model was changed from flat saber ground to FFG recently. The Delica 4 will most likely follow.

So you can buy a blue FFG VG-10 Delica and swap the scales as soon as the FFG ZDP D4 comes out ;)
But the original dark blueish "british racing green" color of the ZDP models is quite nice, too.

:) Didn't mean to!

Honestly, while I love the blue sprint delica, the FFG models will be even better as a tool, in my opinion...

Yeah, I understand. It's just, that older saber grind ZDP D4 with the blue handle is sexy. The problem is, when I have found them online, they are 2 to 3 times the cost of a new D4 FFG. I understand they are a sprint run, but holy moses.

I am probably an outlier, but I still prefer the saber grind on the D4, and that blue has to my knowledge never been used since then. It's a truly great shade of blue.
