I'm going up to NYC tomorrow morning and wonder if there is a shop there (Manhattan) that is likely to stock a bunch of dif. spydies?

The only one that comes to mind is Paragon Sports on 867 Broadway at 18th Street. They have a decent selection. Infact last time I was there a few months ago they had a spyker(http://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=176)

Step 1: Admitted that we were powerless over Spydercos and that our lives had become unmanageable. :D

Followed up about Paragon and read that they sell for 125% of retail and figured I better stay far, far away in case they had something in there I liked.

Haha yeah powerless I can understand. 125% of retail? That's inexcusably arrogant. Most local shops I've gone to who don't specialize in knives that sell the big names like Spyderco and Benchmade still less lower than retail, even the local hunting fishing store. I was surprised at that. I was appalled at Scottsdale Gun Club (former member) for selling Benchmade exclusively (and the whole catalogue to boot), not knowing anything about the product, and never discounting a cent off MSRP.

I'm sure you'll stumble on a good shop in NYC, maybe even a pawn shop. I don't think the knife laws are totally insane there, right?

On a side note: If you're in NYC, don't use a pocket clip- keep it loose in your pocket.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

Three Little Indians in Little Italy has a few spydercos listed, although it is mostly more expensive, custom, knives. The hours listed on his website are wrong. I stopped by and they said he comes in much later than that. I did e-mail him and he e-mailed (or called, I forget) back and said he would let me know when he got in, and he did but I had other commitments and could not go back down there. Does look like a cool place to check out if you are into knives and can pin him down as to when he will be around.

I would recommend IWB carry for your knives in NYC, try to keep the knife under 3 inches and make sure it can't be flicked open (they can call it a gravity knife). I carry my Delica at 4-5 o'clock position and I buy my Spydies online.
