Hey fellas, just wanted to introduce myself and say how much I enjoy this forum and Spyderco knives.

I will probably be reading along and asking questions more than I'll be chiming in to act like I know something! The Spyderco knowledge here is pretty amazing.

Here is my current Spyderco collection:
S90V Manix II
Ocelot ce
Paramilitary se
Gayle Bradley...shocked how nice this knife is..wow
Embassy
Chinook I
S90V military (on the way)

I'm sick I didn't get in on the M4 military in time!

Hello Blackcatt, welcome, I'm also a new poster, just a week of being active more or less, though a reader for a while. I never introduced myself to the forum, so, following your lead:

Live in Philly suburb.
First *expensive* knife: about 12 years ago--Pardue BM auto (lived in Arizona so legal).
First Spyderco: P'Kal. I don't know what came over me, but I bought it, and haven't bought anything else (but Boye cobalts, leathermen for sons) since.
Current Spydies in order of purchase: P'Kal, Manix2 PE, Mules 2,3,4,6, Woodcraft, Leafstorm pilot run, Swick. Pacific Salt, Kuhkri and ATR Ti SE on the way.

I buy to use, not collect, though my compulsion is so nearly overwhelming, collecting for its own sake could happen.

Greetings from the Olympic Peninsula. I've spent many days in the Ozarks, beautiful country.
Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.

Spyders have invaded the Ozark Mountains: I love it

Hello Blackcatt :) I just live a couple of hours away from the Missouri Ozarks and I hope to live there full time some day. My favorite part of the Ozarks is the Current River area close to the Mark Twain National Forests. But I also like the areas in Northern Arkansas which I assume is the part you are from.

You certainly have good tastes with the line up you've showed to us. It amazes me how few of people I still talk to that have yet to be knowledgable of Spyderco's great blades. Where we live seems to be dominated by Buck, Case, Ka-bar and most of the rest of the hardware store brands of knives.

But I am seeing that slowly changing for the better. Yeah once you've gotten your hands on a premium blade like a Spyder it's virtually impossible to ever go back. I even feel guilty when I use sharpening equipment that doesn't have Spyderco's name on it :D Can't wait to get my hands on that Goldenstone they just came out with.

Welcome to fold my friend. Feel free to PM me anytime you want to compare notes. Maybe we can even start a midwestern Chapter of Spyder-heads

It is too late! I am already plotting to bribe somebody into selling me an M4 military when they come out! :) I think those knives are going to be scary a couple of months after they come out on the secondary market!

JD, thanks for the warm welcome!

I'm going to have to agree with ya, the MTNF is incredible outdoors fun. Northern Arky and Southern Missouri have some fantastic landscapes for hiking, camping, paddling, etc. A lot of folks make fun of Arkansas for various reasons, and I always agree with them..."yeah it's a horrible place, don't come around, you'd hate it!", we'll just keep it to ourselves. :D

I'm new here too, and I agree the Spyderco knowledge here is amazing! For a first forum (mine), it was a great pick.

My Spydies are:
Lum Chinese folder (VG-10)
Stretch FRN (ZDP189)
Manix 2 (CPM 154CM)
Pacific salt FRN
Delica4 FRN (VG-10)
Hossom Forester
Hossom Dayhiker
Gayle Bradley

My first Spydie was the Lum Chinese folder. I bought it because it was so darn good looking. It's a lighter duty knife than any of the others I have. It's still gorgeous and beautiful as well as useful.

The Bradley is an extremely beautiful knife. Mine hasn't seen much use yet, but the combination of materials and construction and feel just tell you that it will do what you ask it to. It is the flagship of my modest collection.

I use all of my knives to different degrees. The sheer variety of Syderco coupled with the quality makes them the first company I look to If I have need of a blade.

You came to a good place.

Hey Blackcatt do you live close to Bull Shoals Lake? If so I've got friends that live down in that neck of the woods. Darn good fishing in that neck of the woods too. Hey there ain't anything wrong with ARkansas other than the corrupt government but what the heck? >> that's everywhere you go now-a-days  I love Greer's Ferry Lake which I believe is in your locale and Beaver Lake is a great place too.

People across the USA don't realize that some of the best kept outdoor fun secrets are right here in ARkansas & Missouri both. Not to mention one of my favorite old Rock bands aka Black Oak ARkansas :D Spyderco should name their new H-1 Fillet knife ( that is if they come out with one) The Ozark Fish Assassin :D

And please be careful with those Mason Fruit jars with that clear liquid inside of them  >>Because I found out the hard way :o I hear Uncle Jed calling

Welcome Blackcatt!

There's more 'n a few knife-knuts in this part of the country!

Don't forget to drop in on Tom Krein over in Gentry and take a tour of his shop.

He could fix you up with some scales for your Mule!
