Ive never seen one in person but I know its smaller than the Civilian but same design.

I would assume the asking price would be up there to match its low numbers in North America.

Have to assume any knife that comes with a Kydex sheath will show the inevitable scuff marks from it. With "collector value" out the window, it's worth whatever a rig like that would be worth to someone for SD. I'll freely admit I don't know squat about SD, but the Matriarch seems pretty big for a neck knife, so your customer base might be somewhat limited.

mike sastre has said many times he carries an matriarch in one of his neck sheaths, the knife goes in the sheath folded and is very light bc of the frn, i was thinking about selling it to fund part of a gun purchase but i dont know if i can part with it!!!!!!!! thanx !!!!!!!

Inadvertent or not this thread is treading dangerously close to an ad for your knife. Just my 2 cents.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

Considering there is sprint of the Matriarch planned in the near future I personally wouldn't pay much for it at all, probably around $70 if it was in good shape, I may be way off though.

If you live in a state that has concealed carry, why bother with a knife flopping around under your shirt?

I don't get out enough, when are these supposed to be available? Love that knife, I bought 3 when they were discontinued for $45 apiece; these new ones will probably be a little higher. :)

There were only 500 of the Grey Matriarchs released. I'd keep it if I were you.

I'd try Ebay. Set a reserve if you are concerned.

Better to trade it or wait for right timing

Personally I think the man would probably do very well if he would get a Gold Membership over at Bladeforums and put it up for trade. I would not put that one up for sale for 3 of the reasons that have been cited which I pretty much agree with.

But as many of the guys over at Bladeforums who like the Matriarch I bet you could swing a really good trade over there.

Now if it were mine I would take Mike Sastre's advice and just hold on to it. The gray ones will only get more valued as time goes on especially with this upsurge in Hawkbill popularity.

+1 even if there is one in the works that wont change the value of your particular knife after the dust settles

No need to be sorry and I apologize if I was a little curt. It's really hard to determine a value for it without even a pic. The Matriarch doesn't go up for sale to often so it may be worth a bit, hard to say. Sal did mention a sprint run of it coming up soon, so if I was looking for one I would probably wait for that, but someone might want one bad and be willing to pay now. As much as I hate Ebay, it would be my recommendation to put it on there with a GOOD ad featuring a couple of nice photos and a detailed description, then let the market decided what it's worth.
