Billy wrote:Hi Doc. Figured you might notice that little guy being the wharncliffe fan you are. :D It is made by PML Knives (Paul Letourneau) of 3/16" CPM 3V with a 2.5" blade, G10 handles and the very handy little screwdriver butt, which I suppose could double as a nasty little skull-crusher. It's perfect for pocket or neck carry and it splits time in my front left pocket with my RAT Izula. It is unbelievably sharp (whittles hair ridiculously easy) and holds that edge really well. This knife has made me a big fan of 3V. :D Here's some better shots of it I just snapped. Enjoy!

If that's your EDC i'm glad we cannot carry guns in the UK, man looks like you could start world war 3 with that amount of kit! Iv'e always said that if people in the UK could get their hands on guns as easily as Americans, the streets of Britain would become a blood bath.

OK, I gotta ask. Two questions. 1st - Doc, can you post pic of yourself with your EDC on - maybe indicate what is carried where? 2nd - what do you deploy for what purpose. Im sure you have specific uses for things. [is one of those an SP101]

Today's EDC is even a surprise for me. I actually bought a knife that's not a Spyderco and like it. The handle is a bit thick. Would love to see it (feel it) thinner but other than that I'm pretty happy. Got it yesterday, took it to work, cut strapping material, boxes, paper and even some zip ties and its still wicked sharp. Here's the shot I took from my cell phone today as it was perched on my desk.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that it was the Parker Jotter that caught my attention and not the Griptilian. Still, variety is always good and the BM is a great knife, I'm not surprised you like it. At a time when I loved the Spyderco company but just couldn't find a design from them that worked for me, it was a 556S-Yel that became my edc and held onto the position for almost three years; it was the most satisfying knife I'd had to that point. Still, I was glad when I started finding Spyder designs to return to, I don't think much of BM as a company no matter how much I like a couple of their products.

Would like to see that too, I have no idea how I would fit all those on me.

Pneumothorax & jzmtl..First off there are two Sp101s in the picture and a .22 NAA Mini-Mag that goes into deep concealment. To answer your questions which basically have been asked before and even once in this thread I copied and pasted my answer again...please don't be put off by the answer, but understand from where I'm coming, I'd love nothing more to show you me in my daily get up but that is not possible for the reasons mentioned below:
"Just invision a 138 lb. man leaving the house in the morn tipping the scales at 165+lbs....I would love to show you all the carry positions but I willing to bet there are a few criminal types that would love to see it as well....It is not really that hard to conceal all that stuff...easier than you think if you are creative...If you are ever in my part of town I'd be happy to show you my special concealment for carry....I specially like to see the faces of newbies when I'm teaching a Firearms Course and someone always asks how can you conceal a firearm so no one will know you are carrying...I then ask can you tell if I'm carrying a firearm?...(all eyes balls are peeled on my body) after a few seconds, someone will say no, are you even carrying one. I say sure!...Then I love to watch their reactions as I draw and place on the table in front of them 18 firearms (all concealed just wearing a t-shirt with an over shirt)...with each and every firearm placed on the table their eyes get wider and wider and the end of the demo I always say, See...If I can conceal 18 you shouldn't have any problems concealing one!....To be honest I never walk around this way as It proves to be most uncomfortable, however it proves the point that it can be done"......as far as the EDC picture I posted that is what I carry with a few variations, Winter time gets a P220 .45 caliber semi-auto, one of the Sp101's gets put away...The Rock Salt not pictured is my primary Defensive knife and always carried, as of today...the Subcoms have been changed to a Subclaw, in my front shirt pocket which sees the most use for daily chores, added to the bunch has been a S&W Tactical Pen, Chad Los Banos's "RNR" Kiridashi, A "Rat3" in D2, a Kabar Last Ditch and Bokers "MPT" CE+ One extra Spyderco Ronin...minus from the EDC, is the Subcom FB, and the Mantis Hawkbill, Spyderco Vesuvius, and the SOG Field Pup...Doc :D

Saturn I gotta tell you, I love my Parker Jotter. I have a Cross, Fisher, and several other nicer pens but you just can't beat an old classic. A doctor was in my office last week and snagged it. I found his lab and went up to the 11th floor to get it back.

He apologized and asked where he could get one and how much he should expect to spend. Now if we could just pick up Spyderco's for 4 bucks the world would be perfect. :)

Yeah I am really liking this Grip. Last night after I posted this I pulled out my D'Allara to compare ease of opening with similar lock styles. I hate to say it but the grip blew the D'Allara away.

I doubt that anything will stop me from my Spydie addiction but there are a few things on this grip that top the list for me. Out of the box this is one of the sharpest knives I have ever seen. The lock system makes for wicked fast opening and closing and whatever they are using for a washer system makes for the easiest, smoothing opening I have seen on any knife I own, and I own 43 Spyderco's.

The only complaints about the knife is that the handle is pretty thick and the jimping is awful. It's just not very aggressive at all. Almost like it was an afterthought. If they would slim it up and put G10 on it, Wow.

I work at an autoparts store part time after classes and I usually carry a Zebra F-701 pen in my pocket. I hand it to customers when they pay with their credit card or if they need to write something down. Several times already I've had to chase customers out the front door to get it back. :) One guy after signing his credit card receipt casually slips in into his front pocket. I ask for it back and he tells me I "caught him" and then asked me were he could get one. For a $7 pen from Walmart it sure is popular.
