The Persistence fits just fine in my hands and my hand is right in between medium and large size. If you have big hands, your pinky finger will probably hang off the end of the handle. I actually like the smaller size compared to the Tenacious, but I wish it was a bit lighter. I prefer light EDC knives and so the Delica and Native gets carried while the Tenacious and Persistence stays home.

However, the new (new to me) Sage I trumps all my other EDC choices. Now it's a fight between the Sage and the Bob T.

I'm glad you got your Native back. :) I like happy endings.

Dan, it's a tough choice. But, this morning I am leaning toward the Sage I. I like the profile of the blade. I do not yet have a CF Spydie. The size seems just right.

The CF Walker lock Sage is one of the best knives Spyderco produces. The fit and finish are superb, ergonmics are excellent, and the materials are high quality. It's also an incredibly good value.

Deacon - that does it! I have printed the description of the Sage I from the NGK website and am passing it to my wife today. Hope she takes the hint!

For me the G-10 Endura is the best knife Spyderco has made, don't overlook the Delica just because it is more "common" than some others.

BTW, the icestorm post caught my eye, PM sent.

Glad you found your Native. I have to agree with Simple Man, the G-10 Endura is an excellent knife and it's carried the most. I'm sure the G-10 Delica is also a wonderful knife. I also have the Tenacious and Persistence and have to agree with Deacon that the Tenacious fits the hand better than the Persistence and it does have a better build. The Sage I is a very classy knife but just doesn't fit my hand the best. I am left handed and I've heard the Sage isn't made for south-paws.

to me that's the big difference between the Sage and the Native. The Sage fits my hand much better than the Native, also the opening to the Sage is clearer than on the Native where the Spidie hole is more obscured by the handle than on the Sage.

Just for the record i have both CF versions of them, and the difference is night and day on the grip between the Sage and the Native. YMMV

I had one but thought it was to thin.It would be better IMO if Spyderco would give it G10 scales to make it a little thicker.I do not like the Stretch for the same reason.

I dunno Jeff. I just compared the green G-10 JD Smith with the CF Native and CF Stretch. If there's any difference in thickness, it would take a vernier caliper or a micrometer to show it.

As for the Stretch, try the FRN one, it's definitely thicker. :)

Thanks,I was thinking about picking up a JD Smith but if it is that thin I will pass.
Is it a thinner stock G10 than what is used on the Military? If so it would fit my have better with the thinker G10.

I saw your pics of the FRN Stretch along side the CF one.It looks to be about right.Does it seem to you that Spyderco is going very thin on most of the newer knives with CF and G10.

My guess is that the Military uses thicker G-10 stock because it has nested, rather than flush liners so the slabs have to be milled out. Military G-10 is identical in thickess, or darn close to it, to the combined thickness of the G-10 (or CF) and liner on the JD Smith, CF Native and CF Stretch II. Military is a bit thicker, total, but I'd say that's only because it uses 4mm blade stock vs 3mm for the others.
