My Spydercos As Of Today

#1

Post by OuchThatsSharp »

Well, I got the homemade light studio together and took out my Spydercos and took some new pics. Since my Wife doesn't really appreciate my knives as much as I do, I have to share them with those that do. WARNING: Pic Heavy

This first shot didn't turn out that well, I have to invest in some fill lights and reflectors. My Native collection as of today.

Native III's (My Favorites)

My EDC Native III. This is actually the first Spyderco I purchased a little over two years ago. This is the one that got me hooked and I still carry and use it.
Image

Delica with custom handle by Santa Fe Stoneworks. Black Jet with Paua Shell Inlays and silver Spyderbug. A really nice one.

SFSW Delica back view. Santa Fe Stoneworks stamps their logo on the back underneath the pocketclip.

SFSW Delica closeup.

My Dragonfly. Surprisingly useful knife considering it's small size. Gift from my daughter so I will not be parting with this one.
Image

Polliwog. This has seen quite a bit of pocket time hence the scratches.

My latest acquisition the Carbon Fiber handled Sage. I was curious to see the what the quality of this knife would be since it was made in Taiwan. No worries as it is an awesome built knife with quality materials. Up to par with any of my other Spydercos.

That many Natives deserve a second accolade, great shots mate; you-re gonna force me to embarass myself and try to shoot some of my own but I need lights, my place is way too dark!

Lots of info and actually pretty easy to do. I just need to get the lighting and reflections under control. :)

nice pics and good job your lil photo booth. i have one question , the plain edge black blade natives...on one the edge looks like it was sharpened and the other the the coating is still on the edge, did they both come like that or did you sharpen one or is it just the angle making appear that way?

great collection of natives too...seeing the SFSW delica in there made me think that i have never seen a SFSW native, have you?

That's the way the black PE Natives came.

No, I haven't seen a SFSW Native. Those SS handled Natives look like prime candidates for some type of "enhancement".

I just got started collecting the Natives. And to be completely honest, while I really, really like this knife, I never thought about starting a collection of them until I saw these pics.

A beautiful collection. I'm envious. :D :D :D

Any idea where to find one of those PE black-bladed ones? And the spiderweb SS version?

There's a plain edge black blade right now up on Ebay. Do you want one enough to spend 129.00? :)

This is a beautiful collection of Native's. Everytime I see a PE Stainless my heart skips. There's one of those up on ebay right now too but it looks like it has seen better days.
Sometimes you gotta kick at the darkness until it bleeds daylight.

AKA: Liveitloud on Blade Forums, USN, EDC, Benchmade forums and basically everywhere but here.

Sometimes they aren't as bad as they look in the pics. Then again, sometimes they are!

I got a 1st Gen Delica that had rust on the blade and "gunk" inside for $6.55 (+ shipping = $10.50 total). A little bit of work with a brass-bristle brush from the gun cleaning kit and a toothpick (for the gunk) and a little mineral oil, and it looks practically new. :D

I also recently got a 1996 version of the Rescue 93mm that looked a lot worse in the pics than it really was. Minor cleaning and it now looks good too. :D
