Jay at Warriors and Wonders sold me his 1 promo Black Baliyo that was laying on his desk. I thought it was a one of a kind till I looked it up at Baliyo.com.
It looks like Spyderco is making an alternate version with SS weights and screws and without a DVD. It is under 10 dollars MSRP!! Sorry if you guys all knew but I just found out. I thought the only ones available were the 30 dollar models. I did a search and there was no mention of this.

That's great! I was really upset after one of my clips broke off my pink/orange bali on sunday. I've been carrying it since it came out and am surprised the clip lasted this long and I was bummed i was going to have to shell out $35 again to get one with both clips. I guess black it is now.

nice, now I ordered one.... and might order another from Spydieguys... hmmm.. if I can snag a persistence for a good price from him I'll grab an additional black baliyo as well.
I really think at the 10 dollar price point they could sell a LOT of these. The few people I admitted the price I spent for the first couple I bought about choked. but at 10 bucks they wouldn't really flinch too much.

They didn't understand why something constructed of "just plastic" cost me $35 when i bought both of mine. They just didn't understand :o
For $10 I will definitely pick up a few more. I was just thinking the other day how cool an all black one would look anyways :cool:

I've been playing with my black baliyo for about a month now (yes it does pay to enter the baliyo contests!), and it's a really nice version, but I do prefer the original versions. The 'grab' is a wee bit better in the original versions, compared to the black baliyo. Probably a subjective thing.
