Just got my Chokwe when I got home from work. The first thing I noticed is how nice and light weight it is. The G-10 and titanium are really nice and there is a steel liner on the G-10 side. It is a slim knife and a good all around size. The blade shape is really cool to me. I like wharncliff blades and pointy blades. I didn't realize it had a standard type clip and can be tip up or down.
Fit and finish are great...just like the Sage II. Would consider getting a second one but have the Dragonfly and Ti Military on my list. Got another Spyderpac so have 13 open spaces to fill. :spyder:

locking question
I got my Chockwe yesterday and have been opening and closing it several dozen times. I am now experience the lock up getting tighter and tighter. Is there a breaking period on frame locks? It takes two hand to un-engage it now.
sounds very cool!quattrokid73 wrote:clovisc,

i'm wondering how i can combine copper and malachite (two big zambian exports)... or perhaps, somehow, something in the colors in the zambian flag? now THAT would be cool! :D

Dont know if you fixed this yet. I dont have a Chokwe, but experienced what sounds like the same lock issue with my Leafstorm - titanium RIL. The lock seemed to just stick or 'freeze' in place and it took a lot of pressure to push it open. When it did, the lock bar sort of snapped open. People suggested oil, which didnt work, then graphite (run a pencil tip along the lock surface) and that didnt work. What finally worked for me was putting a little silicone grease on the end of the lock. This made it open much more smoothly and now its perfect no - gritty, sticking lock. Now what I dont know is - did the silicone really work or was it just about time for the lock to get broken in. My theory is (non-confirmed by anyone) is that the end of the lock bar has the same finish as the rest of the scale - on the Leafstorm - its matte. I think this matte finish needs to 'wearoff' and get smooth to work smoothly with the end of the blade. I noticed the lock move from very far left toward the middle as it broke in. That's my story, dont know if it applies to you or not. Would like to hear from more experienced titanium RIL owners about my lock theory, though.Iole wrote:I got my Chockwe yesterday and have been opening and closing it several dozen times. Here's the first trial of an Anso style Chokwe scale featuring green and black from the Zambian flag. If it had a yellow and red liner, I'd have all the flag colors covered.clovisc wrote:sounds very cool!

Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.
