Is that a sprint run? I am not sure if I would be happy with the ZDP or sad I did not get a full flat grind.

You got a frankensteined knife that is no longer under warranty?

In all fairness though, I have frankensteined a few knives in my day. It should make for a great user, Krein it maybe?

I wonder if it came from the factory that way or if someone did that mod themselves?

Where did you get it from? Not from a dealer, I hope? I would be very concerned about the knife not being secure, since this is obviously made from two knives, and AFAIK, there was word that the G-10 and the FRN Enduras can't be easily frankensteined due to slight differences in the design.

If you made a bargain with this knife, it may be ok to just keep it after a disassembly and a thorough look at the parts (safety?). It features some good PARTS after all :)

If you paid a regular price, I'd return it and ask for an unmodified knife. At least that's what you paid for. (or isn't it?)

The lockbar has a good fit, opened and closed.

I really like it, its far more stout looking and has a much thicker tip than it would have with the usual flat-ground VG-10.

So far, so good... I'm not looking the gifthorse in the mouth. :)

I discussed this very thing with another member in the Spyderco sub-forum on Bladeforums a few months ago. He wanted the saber grind for strength matched to the heavier G-10 handle, so he got a ZDP Endura and a G-10 Endura and did a swap. Then he discovered how great the lightweight FRN handle and flat-grind blade worked together, and he didn't seem that keen on the G-10 anymore. I wonder if that is his "dream Endura". ;)
I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.

Update...

I contacted the place I bought it. Yep, its modded.
It was a experiment that they neglected to return to normal (and seemingly lost track of until reminded).
I am told that the other knife has a perfect fit/function as well, so since they made me a killer deal on it I bought it too.
