Maybe about 5-10 minutes...cosmo7809 wrote:Very strange... How long after until it showed up?
Thanks for your help Dennis...Murdoc wrote:Did you try to clean the blade with water and a sponge?
If you're lucky, the Tuf cloth left something on the blade that causes that discoloration. I've personally never seen that on one of my BB knives when they were new.
It seems strange though that the discoloration seems to extend into the pivot aera where you probably didn't reach into with the cloth in the first place, so maybe it is something else than just the result of tuf glide.
Well, if anything else fails, you've just found which one to EDC and which one will be the safe queen :) The EDC'd blade will be looking "used" soon enough anyway.

Well, there was some oil on the blade when I got it then I carried in my pocket play with it for awhile. Actually I just tried to clean up some of the fingerprints and those lints from my pant really. I had Emerson knives with black blade and I never have these kind of ploblems with Tuf Cloth or they have a different type of coating on the blade :confused:clownothorns wrote:I'm probably going to sound like an idiot here, but why would you whipe down a NIB knife? Does it really need to be cleaned right away?
What is CLP?BeefTips wrote:The exact same thing happened to my USN Endura when I wiped it down with a Tuf-Cloth. I ended up wiping it down with CLP and that seemed to get it back to normal.
What is happening is that a coating of protectant is being left on the blade, this often happens with coated knifes, but it is more noticeable on the Endura for some reason (mine does it too) polymer additives and Teflon rags tend to do this. I used a polymer enriched gun lube and it did the same exact thing.J-Na806 wrote:I got 2 new Green USN Black Blades. I got them today then I clean the blade with Tuf Cloth. After awhile one of the Blade change the color as in the Picture. Can anybody tell me is this normal?
