Be careful with very early series of the Salt series. I found one maybe two years ago which clip attracted by the magnet. Titanium is a non-magnetic metal! But it was a very early serie Pacific Salt ("Pacific Salt" was wrote on the blade, not the nice H1 lasercut. It also did not have the typical "Spyderco Bug" lasercut on the blade).

But Sal is the one, who can give the right answer for us!

PS: Always carry a small magnet for reasons like this when you are going to shopping. You can check also that something made of steel or just the cheap pot metal. (Like airsoft guns...) Pot metal is quite same weight as steel but what a difference in quality! Pot metal is a zinc-alloy and it is very brittle and have very low melting temperature. Oh yes, it is antimagnetic. Cheap Italian gas/signal guns made of pot metal typically. You can melt it with candle flame.

Yes, you are correct. Early specimens of the Salt I, Pacific Salt, and Atlantic Salt all had rustproof steel clips. The Tasman was the first to use the titanium clip from the very start and, IIRC, the other Salt models switched to it at about the time the Tasman was introduced.

If you're not sure, the it's easy enough to check with a magnet.

Hey, that IS cool. Nicely done. I, too, had no idea that it could be done so easily / cheaply. I just may have to try this...

I love it.
The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of meeting deadlines is forgotten.
